A caravan of trucks and vehicles loaded with products from Mindanao will take a 1,800-kilometer journey through the Pan-Philippine Highway starting tomorrow for the MinDA Tienda in Manila set Oct. 23 to 25.
Agricultural and Fisheries products and handicrafts will be displayed in booths to be set up at the Kartilya ng Katipunan beside the Manila City Hall.
A joint project of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and the City of Manila under Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, the MinDA Tienda aims to link Mindanao’s farmers, fishermen and artisans to the huge market.
The main features of the 3-day event are the exotic fruits from Mindanao, including Durian, Mangosteen, Pomelo and Lanzones, the famous Mindanao Organic Black Rice and rare marine products like Coconut Crabs and Sea Mantis.
A business booth will also be established where institutional and big volume buyers could meet Mindanao farmers and fishermen.
There will only be a small volume of the perishable goods and most of these will only be for display purposes but the fruits will be bountiful.
The People of Mindanao would like to thank Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso and the City Government of Manila for their help in allowing our producers gain direct access to the market.
