Just for the fun of it, I launched a month ago the “Biggest Badiang Challenge” where I urged farmers to submit photos of the biggest Giant Taro (sn: Alocasia macrorrhizos) in their farms.
I offered a guaranteed prize of One Set of Manok Pinoy breeders consisting of one rooster and 5 hens.
Marami po ang nagpadała ng pictures, some of which attempted to display their beautiful faces rather than the “Badiang.”
As of Monday, May 31, the deadline for the submission of entries, however, an 18-ft. high “Badiang” in Sitio Mariva, Sumilil, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat, stood out as the biggest and tallest.
The photo of the Giant “Badiang” was taken by farmer-leader Romulo Fajardo in the land owned by farmer Alvin Sibug, 40.
Farmer Sibug will receive 1 Rooster and 5 Pullets of the Manok Pinoy Free Range chicken which I bred in my farm.
While Farmer Sibug’s Badiang is adjudged as the biggest/tallest, I still maintain that my Badiang is the most beautiful.
