Tonight, following the directives issued by President Rody Duterte on addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic, I have issued an order suspending work at the Mindanao Development Authority offices.
Also deferred to later dates are all activities, including the send-off of a Navy vessel loaded with timber for Jolo fire victims and the Taraka, Lanao Sur program launching.
So as to maintain our linkage with our clientele, I have ordered the creation of a 10-man skeletal force headed by a senior officer to man the office on a daily rotation basis.
Employees are advised to stay home but continue linkages with our clients through digital communications.
In the spirit of compassion, all workers under Contract of Service or Job Orders will be given specific assignments while they are not in the office.
As long as they perform their assigned tasks, they will be entitled to their daily wages.
Since I am coming in from a travel to Kota Kinabalu where I attended the World Islamic Economic Forum, I and two staff members who travelled with me will undergo a voluntary self-quarantine.
I will submit myself to medical check up and stay in my farm for one week.
All MinDA officials and employees are enjoined to observe these directives.
