Early today, my Godson Nathan Floresta, came to my farm with his mom, Mary Ann, to talk about the marketing of Mindanao’s Solo Papaya.
Nathan has been exporting Mindanao’s Solo Papaya to Singapore, Japan, South Korea and China for years now.
The price range for Hot Water Bath processed Papaya is very affordable, even for local consumers.
I said that the Luzon market for Solo Papaya is even bigger than the Singapore market.
So, I asked him to consider the local market for Solo Papaya.
He agreed to join the Baguio City MinDA Tienda on Nov. 14 to 15.
The Baguio City MinDA Tienda is a joint project of the Mindanao Development Authority and the City Government.
A total of six tons of Solo Papaya in boxes of 6 kilos will be shipped through reefer vans from Cotabato to Baguio City.
The Papayas will be sold by boxes and the fruits are expected to ripen 3 to 4 days after the Baguio City MinDA Tienda.
