Mindanao Earthquake
MinDA FORMS TASK GROUP
FOR REHAB, REPAIR WORKS
Following the devastation caused by the Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake which hit Southeastern Mindanao, especially the province of North Cotabato, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) is organising a task group which would validate and assess the extent of damage and injuries, including death so immediate interventions could be undertaken.
As Chairman of the MinDA, I issued yesterday a Memorandum engaging all officials of the agency to come up with a comprehensive and validate report on the extent of the damage and injuries.

SUBJECT : EARTHQUAKE REHAB GROUP
Dear All,
In view of the deaths, injuried and damage to property and livelihood resulting from the recent 6.3 Magnitude Earthquake which hit Southeastern Mindanao, you are hereby directed to form a task group to undertake the following:
1. Determine the total number of families affected by the Mindanao Earthquake, specifically those who lost their homes and livelihood and who lost loved ones as a result of the calamity;
2. Determine the extent of the damage to buildings and properties owned by the local government units whose immediate repair and rehabilitation are essential in the delivery of basic services;
3. Determine the number of government properties i.e. buildings, bridges, roads which were damaged by the earthquake and whose immediate repair and rehabilitation are essential in the efficient flow of trade and commerce in the area;
4. Determine the identities of those who perished or injured in the earthquake for submission to President Rody Duterte and Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go for the delivery of immediate financial assistance.
Please submit an initial report to the MinDA Chairman not later than Oct. 23, Wednesday and the comprehensive summary not later than Oct. 28.
All reports must be supported with pictures and documents.
