My farm house nearly got burned yesterday after the electric wirings sparked following a power interruption in my area served by our local electric cooperative.
All of the light bulbs were busted and my wifi connection was disrupted as the wirings were burned.
Today, I had to buy new light bulbs and work using my phone’s cellular data because the wifi was busted.
While the problem was with my back up generator’s faulty voltage regulator, my electric coop is the main culprit.
The series of unannounced power interruptions has caused all of these damages.
Today, for example, I have counted at least 5 to 6 short power interruptions.
In fact, I was roused from sleep because of another power interruption a short while ago.
I have 8 units of incubators running and brooders with thousands of young chicks which need heat from the bulbs.
Already, I had replaced the computer boards of my incubators several times.
Mabuti ako may malaking back-up generator.
Paano yong ang hanspbuhay ay paggawa ng “Balot” o yong gumagawa ng home-made ice cream o cake?
Sigurado apektado sila but their complaints are unheeded.
Power is vital to a community’s economy, as well as that of Mindanao.
If this is the quality of service our electric coops provide us, we cannot encourage small entrepneurs to start a business.
I believe it is high time for us to really review the performance of these electric cooperatives in Mindanao.
We have to upgrade our power services otherwise Mindanao’s economic growth will be affected.
