Davao City – After four successful staging in Northern Luzon, the MinDA Fruits Festival goes to Cebu on Sept. 28 and 29.
Secretary Michael Dino, Presidential Asst. for Visayas, last night said he will host the Cebu staging of the MinDA Fruits Festival to give Cebuanos access to fresh fruits from Mindanao at lower prices.
In a chance meeting with Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairman, Sec. Manny Piñol, in the Manila Domestic Airport, Sec. Dino said he will be able to choose the ideal location for the fruits festival next week.
The Fruits Festival is a project of MinDA to link Mindanao’s fruit farmers with consumers in Luzon and the Visayas.
The project is aimed at providing farmers access to the market to motivate them to produce more while giving consumers access to fruits at lower prices.
MinDA aims to institutionalise the link between the farmers and consumers.
