NO RIVERS SO DEEP THAT WE CANNOT CROSS…

There is a world of difference between urban politicians compared to rural leaders delivering a message of hope and sharing a vision of good governance to their constituencies.
In the big cities, you have the Cable TV, the newspapers, the radio, the social media, the celphone and the colorful tarpaulins hanging in every street corner.
Out here in our place in the woods, we are limited to the radio, the celphone and to some extent the social media.
There is really a need to travel to the remotest areas of the province to talk to people. There is a need to cross rivers and climb mountains to deliver the message.
Out here, our motto is: “There are no rivers so deep that we cannot cross, no mountains so high that we cannot climb and there no dreams that we cannot realize.”
But the experience could be enriching because the trips to the countryside give you an idea of the conditions of the people in the remotest areas of the province and what could be done to improve their conditions.
In this picture accompanying this article, one of our back-up vehicles, an Isuzu Sportivo owned by my staff, Engr. Mila Casis, crosses the mighty Libungan River in Barangay Raradangan in Alamada.
Three bridges spanning this mighty river were washed away one after the other by strong flashflood which moved big rocks.
A P120-million funding has been secured by First District Congressman Jesus N. Sacdalan recently for the construction of a new bridge.
