At 4 a.m. today, I took off from Kidapawan City for an 8-hour journey to Tandag City, Surigao del Sur to launch the digitalization program of the province.
The ‘One Mindanao, One Data’ (OMOD) Program is a digital platform that aims to establish a reliable, accurate, and real-time database of Mindanao’s agriculture and fisheries sectors.
The contents shall include commodities per area, production maps and volume, market information, farmers’ and organizations’ profiles, demand and supply monitoring.
The database shall be linked with the MinDA Tienda, an e-commerce platform to increase products’ marketability, ensuring the integration of a complete value chain concept.
The digitalization program was launched in Misamis Oriental, making history by being the first province to go digital.
North Cotabato and Surigao del Sur are the second and third provinces in Mindanao to adopt the digitalization program.
When completed, all provinces in Mindanao will be digitally connected allowing easy exchange of information on available supplies and market demand.
