Davao City – Initially, I just wanted a simple and quiet turn-over of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairmanship from Officer-In-Charge Neil Dalumpines to me as the incoming chief but I had a change of mind last Tuesday realising that there is a need to make the people and leaders of Mindanao feel that MinDA is theirs.
So, on Monday, Aug. 19, Mindanao’s political and business leaders will be joined by Bangsamoro traditional and tribal leaders who have been given special invitations to witness the turn-over.
Among those invited were the Sultans of Sulu, Maguindanao, Buayan and Lanao and leaders of the major tribes of Mindanao.
The Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Ahod “Murad” Ebrahim Al Haj, who is a member of the Board of MinDA, and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Chairman Nur Misuari were also formally invited to the turn-over ceremonies.
The head of the Mindanao Federation of Sultanates, Gov. Pax Mangudadatu, is also expected to be present.
Former ARMM Governor and now Deputy House Speaker Mujiv Hataman, Congressman Ebrahim Mangudadatu and other political leaders from all over Mindanao have also confirmed their attendance.
Business and civic leaders who are members of the MinDA Board will also be present during the turn-over ceremonies.
The turn-over ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. at the MinDA Office in the Old Airport Building in Davao City.
