The Central Mindanao Airport located in Tawantawan, M’lang, North Cotabato is expected to be operational before the end of the term of President Rody Duterte.
The other is the new Zamboanga International Airport which will be built in a new location.
The Central Mindanao Airport, which started as a provincial government-initiated project when I was Governor of North Cotabato, will serve the provinces of North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, Davao del Sur and the southern towns of Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon.
The Zamboanga International Airport Project has been allocated an initial P200-M by the Department of Transportation for the acquisition of the area.
Construction work is expected by 2021.
The Mindanao Development Authority (MiDA) closely monitors the implementation of these two major infrastructure projects.
