For farmers in Luzon who have been looking for Purple Ube planting materials, MinDA Tienda in Manila will have at least 1-metric ton for sale.
Actually, three tons of Ube from Bukidnon will be brought to Manila for the event set Oct. 23 to 25.
Two tons, however, were pre-ordered by Manila buyer, leaving only 1 ton available for walk in buyers.
MinDA Tienda is a joint project of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and the City of Manila under Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.
It will be held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Plaza beside the Manila City Hall.
Fruits, agri and marine products and handicrafts by Mindanao artisans will be available.
A business booth will also be established to allow institutional and individual buyers to forge marketing and supply agreements with farmers and fishermen’s groups.
