Point of clarification! ‘BALIK PROBINSYA’ MEANS BACK TO HOME PROVINCE

The “Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa” Program proposed by Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go and supported by President Rody Duterte aims to bring back thousands of urban informal settlers to their home provinces.

This was clarified yesterday by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea during the ZOOM conference convened by “Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa” proponent Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go.

“Kung saan galing ang pamilya, doon lang sila puede bumalik,” Sec. Medialdea emphasized.

Sen. Go also said that the program will be open to families who are interested.

“Walay pugsanay ni. Kung kinsa lang ang intresado mao lang to ang dawaton,” Sen. Go said.

(Nobody will be forced to join the program. This will be open only to those interested.)

The “Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa” was initiated by Sen. Go in response to appeals by urban informal settlers for help in going home to their provinces.

All agencies of government have been directed to utilize their available in a whole-of-nation approach to implement the rural resettlement program.

The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) has been tasked to start the program in Mindanao with the establishment of model resettlement areas.
