RODY DUTERTE’S EXEC ASSISTANT USES JETSKI TO RESCUE MAROONED CAPT. PINOL AND SON

Davao City Vice Mayor, and soon to be mayor again, Rody Duterte’s Executive Assistant Bong Go played hero to my brother, ship captain Celso Pinol and his son, Nico, when he used a jetski to pluck them out of their home’s rooftop in the flooded Jade Valley Subdivision last Saturday.

Bong Go’s daring rescue effort came after a series of calls I made to him asking him to help my brother, a captain of an international vessel who is home for a vacation, following the inundation of the communities at the bank of the Davao River after heavy rains caused flash floods.

Celso was able to move the other members of his family to higher ground but rushing flood waters marooned him and his eldest son, Niko, and a helper prompting them to climb to the roof of their home.

“I am very thankful to Bong Go for his help,” my brother told me yesterday when he came to the farm to borrow my power sprayer to wash off the mud from his modest home.

The M’lang Rescue Team headed by Mayor Lito Pinol also proceeded to the area and later helped rescue about 150 marooned residents in the area.

Bong Go had to use a jetski because the rubber boats of the City Disaster Office were working in other areas of the city which were also flooded.
