Baguio City – The Cordillerans’ craving for fruits from Mindanao was manifested today by a sea of humanity which swarmed on the first shipment of fruits sold by local vendors on Session Road.
The first shipment included Lanzones, Pomelo, Mangosteen, Durian and Rambutan
The fruit sale may extend until nighttime today as two more trucks carrying 28 tons of Durian and Pomelo are expected to arrive in Baguio City at 5 p.m. today.
The trucks which left Mindanao Thursday suffered multiple busted tires which delayed the travel.
After the Second MinDA Fruit Festival, the sale of fruits in Baguio City will be transferred to the fruit section of the public market.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong and MinDA Chairman Manny Piñol agreed that the selling price of fruits should be lower than the previous levels.
