Silverado Roadside Eatery! Journey for Balik Probinsya

Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte – Knowing that restaurants along the route from Kidapawan City to Lanao del Norte are closed because of COVID 19, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) “Balik Probinsra” team traveled well prepared today.

At 2 p.m. today, the team stopped by the side of the highway shaded by huge mango trees and opened our “baon” using the tailgate of my 20-year-old Silverado truck as instant table.

With so many bananas by the roadside, it was easy to gather leaves to serve as our table cover.

For our late lunch, we had Lechon Manok Pinoy, Paksiw na Lechon,, boiled eggs and organic Denorado upland rice from Alamada town.

Then, we had watermelons bought from another roadside store in Pigcawayan town, North Cotabato.

Sinong may sabing mahirap magbyahe at magtrabaho?

Para lang kami nag picnic at wala pang corkage o cottage fee!
