Sleeping Soundly in Jolo!

For the first time in so many years, I had a full 8-hour sleep last night in Jolo.
The reason?
Walang Internet at wala ka din pupuntahan sa labas kasi brown-out!
This is exactly what they have been saying about finding an opportunity in every crisis.
I went to sleep very early in the small room of the Peace Keepers Hotel owned by a cooperative with policemen and soldiers as members.
It is one of the safest inns of Jolo because it is right inside the police camp.
On the way back to Zamboanga City this morning en route to Davao City, I met an old friend, former Undersecretary Nabil Tan, now a Member of Parliament of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The airport waiting lounge was hot because – you’re correct – there was a brown out.
We did not mind though because we just got out and had some souvenir shots taken before boarding the Platinum flight back to Zamboanga.
It’s not that bad after all in Jolo.
In fact, the crisis makes one resourceful!
