“We Need to Work As One!” MinDA FORMS INTER-AGENCY ECONOMIC RECOVERY BODY

An Inter-Agency Council composed of government agencies and the private sector was formed yesterday to lead Mindanao’s Economic Recovery Facilitation by addressing issues and concerns which would impede the region’s return to normalcy.
Among the issues addressed yesterday were the delay in the transport of goods because of bottlenecks along the highways, the Mindanao vaccination program, fasttracking the processing of loans with the Development Bank of the Philippines and the Land Bank of the Philippines and facilitation of the marketing of goods.
The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) hosted the second forum aimed at getting all sectors together to address issues which could boost Mindanao’s Economic Recovery Post-COVID 19.
Yesterday’s forum involved the different government agencies, including government financing instituions, who will be presented to react to issues and concerns raised by the private sector in the first forum two weeks ago.
The purpose of the forum is to collate issues and concerns and at the same time present solutions to facilitate the economy recovery of the region.
It is expected that at the end of the exercise, MinDA and the stakeholders will be able to establish the Mindanao Economic Recovery Facilitation Council (MERFC) which would serve as the cog to focus all effots towards a common objetive.

The checkpoints have been identified as one of the major causes in the delay of the transport of goods and movement of people in Mindanao.)
