Jolo, Sulu – Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, one of the most hardworking national officials, yesterday asked the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to prepare a Master Plan for the rehabilitation of the fire-ravaged villages of Jolo.
Arriving in Jolo late yesterday afternoon, Sen. Go visited the temporary shelter areas for some 2,000 families whose homes were gutted by a fire on Feb. 3.
Along with Social Welfare Undersecretary Aimee Neri, Sen. Go provided financial assistance to the fire victims.
He also conveyed President Rodrigo Duterte’s message to the fire victims with the commitment of support in the rehabilitation program.
Sen. Go later confered with local officials led by Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan and Jolo Vice Mayor Kerkhar Tan.
He asked MinDA to prepare and submit to him a Master Plan for the rehabilitation of the fire-gutted coastal villages of Jolo.
The Master Plan, he said, will be presented to President Duterte who earlier directed MinDA to address the Jolo problem.
MinDA will start conducting an intensive stakeholders consultation by next week to complete the Jolo Rehabilitation Master Plan before the end of the month.
