Yesterday, I was back to doing what I enjoyed the most – talking to farmers and giving them hope that life would be better soon.
I was actually invited by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to talk about the Sorghum Program of our new group, Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, which I and former Senator Ping Lacson formed along with several friends.
The participants of the meeting in Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat were farmer-beneficiaries of the Agrarian Reform Program of the government.
They listened intently as I shared with them the prospects of Sorghum farming to help them earn more from their farms and at the same time contribute to the country’s food sufficiency program.
Sultan Kudarat Province is one of the areas which we have identified as production areas for Sorghum for poultry, livestock and aqua feeds.
Since it will be grown locally, the price would be less than imported Wheat and Corn which expectedly would also bring down the cost of feeds.
