We celebrated Father’s Day today by working on a project which would benefit the children of tomorrow, the establishment of a Sorghum Trials Farm in faraway Sual, Pangasinan.
Senator Ping Lacson, Fil-Am farmer scientist Rocky French and I checked on the farm of businessman Benjie Go in Sual, the proposed site for the Sorghum trial farms, grains silos and Aqua Feed Mill.
At first glance, Rocky was impressed with the soil quality describing it as similar to the Imperial Clay.
We also located an ideal place for the construction of the grains silos and Aqua Feed Mill.
Rocky and I will return to the area first week of July for the land preparation and to conduct a briefing on Sorghum farming.
The planting of Sorghum in the first six hectares will be started soon after.
