Based on my standards, the best Free-Strange Chicken to be raised under Philippine conditions, is a cross-breed of Orientals over Western hens.
The Orientals, also known as Parawakan, Jolo or Basilan, possess outstanding body and are resilient to diseases.
In fact, the Orientals could survive without immunization.
The Western Breeds, on the other hand, are prolific egg layers.
This was how I developed the Manok Pinoy, the free-range chicken strain which I developed in 2010 and continued to breed until today.
